Back In-form-ed is designed to keep your
company in compliance with section 25 of the Occupational Health and
Safety Act. The information this program provides will help your
employees at home and at work. The result is a happier, more
productive, work force that can lead to reduced workplace injury and
disability.
The computer slide show is divided into six
sections:
1. Back pain facts (incidence and prevalence)
2. Anatomy of the back (pain structures and
location)
3. Postural analysis – static model
(standing, sleep position etc.)
4. Postural analysis – in motion
(lifting, moving objects etc.)
5. Healthy lifestyle habits (nutrition,
exercise, stress reduction)
6. Emergency back care (what to do at home,
treatment options etc.)
Although the information in this geared toward
preventing back pain, the principals of the program can be applied to
prevention of most other musculoskeletal injuries as well.
